Privacy policy
Short version: what you type into the calculators never leaves your browser.
What we do not collect
The calculators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Salary figures, pension percentages and student loan selections are never transmitted to this site's servers, never logged and never stored. There is no user account system and no database of visitor inputs.
If you use a link containing a salary — for example /?salary=45000 — that value is in the URL and will appear in your own browser history. It is not recorded here.
Advertising
This site is monetised through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure which ads were shown, to limit how often you see the same ad, to detect invalid traffic, and — only where you have consented — to personalise the advertising you see based on your interests.
Google explains how it uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can review and change your own Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com, and opt out of personalised advertising across participating networks at optout.aboutads.info.
Consent
If you are in the UK or the EEA you will be shown a consent notice before any non-essential cookie is set. You can accept, reject, or set preferences by purpose, and you can change your choice at any time through the privacy settings link in the consent notice. Rejecting personalisation does not stop you using the calculators — nothing on this site is gated behind consent, and the figures are identical either way.
Analytics
Aggregate analytics — page views, approximate location at country level, device type, referring site — are collected to understand which pages are useful. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of personal data held about you, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. Because this site collects no personal data directly, requests about advertising data are best directed to Google, which acts as the controller for it — see the Google link above.
Children
This site is aimed at working adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date below. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
